Robert said--"I have taken a holistic approach to the GEN 195, knowing that not every student will master every objective, but every student will develop skills and confidence to drive their learning as they proceed to their next class."
QUESTION What do think about a holistic approach in the more specific classes--say a HIS 301 US Constitution, or POL 221 American Democracy. Should we start each class with a longer lens and look at both the objectives and the idea of having a better student in week 5 than week 1? Have we become overly focused on the details of a 5 week class (in part due to the time constraints) that we lose the forest for the trees?
